About Clari Cantuli

The Clari Cantuli children's choir was founded in January 1989 by Conductor Ria Vanwing in the town of Kessel-Lo.

This choir consists of children who are alumni of the practice choir Cantulietjes. These childrens, 7 years and older, take care of the concerts of Clari Cantuli. They combine etiquette with a solid vocal technique and rehearse once a week on Friday between 17.15 and 18.45 pm.

Clari Cantuli has performed a number of exciting concerts at home and abroad, including The Netherlands, Germany, Spain and France. 

Some of these performances include the Christmas Concert at the Royal Palace in Brussels (1992), the anniversary concert "Up with People" (1992). Clari Cantuli also participated in the children's festival "Children spielen ohne Grenzen" in Duisburg (D) (2000), at the final concert at the symposium "Child and Voice" in Tilburg (Netherlands) (2000) and performed the closing set in Maastricht (September 2008) at the sixth corn manifestation of the Southern Netherlands with great success.

The choir has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as: VRO & VRK, Il Fondamento, Capilla Flamenca, Danel String Quartet and Oxalys. Clari Cantuli has sung with conductors Sigiswald Kuijken, Paul Dombrecht, Johan Duijck, Filip Bral, Bob Chilcott, Dirk Vermeulen and Dirk Brosse.

Clari Cantuli has won numerous first place honors and prizes at various national and international choir competitions and festivals, including in the EMJ Neerpelt. For the 3-year choir tournament of the Province of Flemish Brabant, Clari Cantuli classified in the category "Excellence". 

Clari Cantuli gave a memorable performance at the "Europa Cantat Junior" festival in Namur (2002). Clari Cantuli realized or collaborated in numerous CDs:

In addition, in 2009, they made a recording of "Change Ringing" by Jeroen D'hoe, which can still be heard in the St. Rombouts Cathedral in Mechelen. Later that year, in collaboration with Klaus Badelt, they contributed 5 choir pieces to the soundtrack of the movie "Le petit Nicolas".
